There are many tools that support the research and writing process. Familiarity with these tools can simplify and streamline research and writing by helping users find, organize and manage information. These modules are designed to help participants identify and become familiar with tools for authors and researchers.

Finding and managing literature is crucial to a successful research program. Upon completion of this module, participants will be familiar with the basic navigation of PubMed. They will know how to use MyNCBI to manage bibliographies for National Institutes of Health grants and manage literature searches, including creating automatic alerts for new literature related to a specific area of interest.

EndNote is a bibliographic reference manager. When authors write scholarly papers, it's expected that they cite the relevant literature to support the premise of the paper. EndNote helps authors manage specific references for each paper and insert them from EndNote into the paper.

Mayo Clinic Libraries has a wealth of resources and offers many services to help all Mayo employees. Upon completion of this module, participants will be familiar with basic navigation of the Mayo Clinic Libraries website and how to use library services. Participants will also learn how to use the library website to find the full text of journal articles.
