The M.D.-Ph.D. Program, officially known as the Medical Scientist Training Program, is offered by Mayo Medical School and Mayo Graduate School. The program presents an exceptional opportunity for a select group of highly talented students to pursue a combined M.D.-Ph.D. degree.
Within the M.D.-Ph.D. Program, students choose from seven track options — one of them being the clinical and translational science track. The Center for Translational Science Activities delivers the clinical and translational science course work for this track.
The clinical and translational science track, which is built upon Mayo Clinic's extensive interdisciplinary research and medical environment, includes laboratory-based research training and rigorous course work that together prepare dual-track scholars to translate scientific discoveries into applications that improve patient care.
