Mayo Clinic's Department of Neurology is developing diagnostic and clinical expertise in the field of sleep medicine, which focuses on the diagnosis and management of sleep disordered breathing, narcolepsy and hypersomnias, restless legs syndrome, parasomnias, and insomnia for pediatric and adult patients.

The Center for Sleep Medicine at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota, features an integrated outpatient clinic and laboratory facility offering 24 state-of-the-art video-EEG-capable laboratory polysomnography beds, and a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, team-based approach to patient care under the mentorship of 24 highly engaged faculty from the fields of pulmonary and critical care medicine, neurology, pediatrics, psychiatry and family medicine.

The Department of Neurology conducts research aimed at understanding sleep disorders and improving therapy, as well as providing clinical services to care for patients afflicted by these disorders.
