The center contributes to a survey research course that Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences offers every year. The course, Introduction to Survey Research (CTSC 5820), familiarizes students with the theory and application of survey research in data collection.

Specific topics covered include:

• Question writing.
• Questionnaire design.
• Scale development.
• Reliability and validity.
• Sampling.
• Sample size estimation.
• Survey types.
• Statistical analysis.
• Presentation of results.

No prior survey research experience is required or expected.
