The Certificate Program in Clinical and Translational Science requires a:
- Minimum of 13 didactic credits.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Mentored research project.
If the scholar is able to commit 100% protected time to the Certificate Program, it is possible to complete the 13 credits and the research project in one year. The program may take longer if less than 100% of the scholar's time is available to complete the program requirements.
All coursework for the Certificate Program is offered through Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. A minimum of 13 credits is necessary to complete the program — nine foundational and four elective.
Required foundational courses
||Responsible Conduct of Research
||Clinical Research Proposal Development
||Introduction to Epidemiology
||Introduction to Statistics in Clinical and Translational Research
Concentrations and elective credits
Four additional elective credits are required within the 13-credit program. Scholars can customize a curriculum that best meets their individual professional goals or choose to focus their elective credits in a concentration area. Scholars choosing a concentration area will be completing 14 didactic credits.
Scholars are encouraged to fulfill electives with clinical and translational science courses (CTSC). Other Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences courses may be considered with approval.
