About this study

Subjects for this study will have been diagnosed with a bulge or aneurysm in their abdominal aorta, which is the blood vessel in the abdomen (belly) that supplies blood to most of the lower body including major organs and the legs.

The purpose of this study is to gather safety and effectiveness of the Zenith t-Branch and customized physician-specified stent-graft with a combination of fenestrations and/or branches to repair the aneurysm.

The Zenith t-Branch and physician-specified fenestrated and branched endovascular graft is a tubular graft made of polyester fabric sewn to stainless steel stents that keep the graft open. As an aneurysm expands, the walls become weak and may rupture, causing a major loss of blood with a high risk of death and other serious complications. To avoid this risk the aneurysm will be repaired by putting a graft in place of the aneurysm. The graft will be inserted through arteries in the leg (called endovascular repair). This procedure uses catheters that go inside the blood vessel to place a stent graft above and below the aneurysm.

The upper portion of the graft includes 1 to 5 small holes (fenestrations) or cuffs (side branches) that allow the graft to be located above the renal arteries without blocking blood flow to them. These small holes or branches are the investigational part of this research study. This is needed when there is not enough healthy aorta below the renal arteries. At least one artery may also be treated with an alignment stent (small tubular stainless steel structures) to help keep the arteries open and aligned with the fenestrations or branches. The Zenith t-Branch and physician-specified fenestrated and branched endovascular graft will be referred to as the Zenith Fenestrated-Branched System.

About this study

Exendin-(9,39) has been shown to have effects on beta-cell function, and after gastric bypass, to accelerate gastrointestinal transit. - infused at rates of 300pmol/kg/min. Given that gastrointestinal transit is typically delayed by Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) and also that this hormone causes decreased food intake through increased satiation, it is reasonable to expect an effect of Exendin-9,39 on appetite. This may help explain the effects of gastric bypass on food intake. To examine the effect of Exendin on food intake we propose a dose-response study to determine whether the compound has effects in a dose-dependent fashion. We will examine the presence of gastrointestinal symptoms as well as food intake in the immediate aftermath of a test meal and the subsequent hours.

About this study

The primary objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that high-dose spironolactone will lead to greater proportional reduction in NT-proBNP levels from randomization to 96 hours over standard of care.

About this study

This phase III trial studies the side effects and how well risk-based therapy works in treating younger patients with newly diagnosed liver cancer. Surgery, chemotherapy drugs (cancer fighting medicines), and when necessary liver transplant are the main current treatments for hepatoblastoma. The stage of the cancer is one factor used to decide the best treatment. Treating patients according to the risk group they are in may help get rid of the cancer, keep it from coming back, and decrease the side effects of chemotherapy.

About this study

The results of this study will optimize the care for patients with a meniscus root tear. Surgeons will be able to determine if MRR (meniscus root repair) with transtibial pullout technique is an effective treatment and will identify potential risk factors for poor clinical outcomes. In addition, investigators will determine if MRR is successful in delaying the radiographic progression of arthritis in the involved compartment.

Using the analysis of group velocity for a screening application and then higher order analysis based on the elastic and viscious components of the shear modulus may allow discrimination between extent of tumor invasion through the esophageal wall if appropriately correlated with pathological findings.
