About the Lab
The mechanistic research of the Cytoskeletal Membrane Dynamics Laboratory led by Mark A. McNiven, Ph.D., is focused on membrane and cytoskeletal interactions that play a key role in essential processes performed by cells of the pancreas and liver. These functions are essential to the normal function of these cells as alterations in membrane trafficking can lead to life-threatening diseases such as cancer, cirrhosis or steatosis (fatty liver or pancreas).
