Laser capture microdissection microscope. Access to advanced instrumentation to prepare proteomics samples

Self‑service equipment access allows trained users to independently use specialty proteomics sample preparation instruments in a fee‑for‑use model to support a wide range of low‑input and spatial proteomics applications.

Self-service equipment

The Multiomics Mass Spectrometry Core provides access to cutting-edge specialty instruments for proteomics sample preparation through a self-service, fee-for-use model. This equipment supports applications in single-cell, spatial and biofluid proteomics, as well as other low-input workflows.

The core manages scheduling and billing. The core does not perform operations on users' behalf, but core-operated services for single-cell omics are being developed. Prior training is required for independent access.

KingFisher Apex: Automated magnetic bead purification

The KingFisher Apex automates high-throughput magnetic bead-based purification of proteins, nucleic acids and cells. It supports diverse proteomics workflows, including immunoprecipitation, affinity-purification of biotinylated proteins with streptavidin-beads and enrichment of low-abundance proteins from biofluids.

Applications

  • Antibody bead-based affinity purification (immunoprecipitation-mass spectrometry).
  • Isolation of proximity-biotinylated proteins from cells or tissues (BioID and APEX).
  • Click chemistry-based enrichment strategies, such as bio-orthogonal noncanonical amino acid tagging (BONCAT).
  • Magnetic nanoparticle protein corona enrichment from biofluids.
  • High-throughput sample cleanup and enrichment.
