The Investigating Memory and Physical Activity After Cancer Treatment in Survivors of Adolescent and Young Adult Cancers (IMPACT) Study examines relationships between physical activity, memory and thinking in survivors of adolescent or young adult cancer. This study is conducted remotely. Participants do not need to live in Arizona or be a patient at Mayo Clinic to participate. All assessments are conducted once.

You may be eligible if you are an adult previously diagnosed with cancer when you were between the ages of 15 and 39.

To participate, complete the following:

  • Interest form. Complete this form to see if you are eligible.
  • Informed consent form. You will receive this form by email if you are eligible.
  • Questionnaires. Take 15 to 30 minutes to complete questionnaires about your demographics, health history, physical activity, cancer-related symptoms, quality of life and exercise confidence. You do not need to complete the questionnaires in one sitting.
  • Brain games. Take 45 minutes to complete brain games on your desktop or laptop computer. You need to complete these brain games in one sitting.
  • Activity monitoring. We will mail a device to you that you will wear on your thigh for one week.
  • Interview with a member of the study team. Take 30 minutes to talk about your experiences with, preferences for and perceptions of physical activity and exercise. This interview is optional. You do not have to agree to participate in the interview to participate in the study.

Compensation

You will be paid for your time assisting with this research study. Findings will be used to design supportive care interventions for people with a history of cancer during adolescence or young adulthood.
