Mental Health Support During Pregnancy For Persons Carrying A Fetus With CHD

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine if a prenatal mindfulness-based childbirth and parenting (MBCP) program, administered virtually (via Zoom), will be feasible to implement and acceptable to pregnant persons carrying a fetus with congenital heart disease (CHD).

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria (for pregnant persons):

  • ≥18 years of age
  • Pregnant with a fetus identified as having congenital heart disease (CHD).
  • Gestational age of the fetus ≤ 30 weeks.

Exclusion Criteria (for pregnant persons and partners): 

  • Participating in ongoing psychotherapy.
  • Non-English speaking.
