Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
Tania Gendron, Ph.D., and Wilfried O. Rossoll, Ph.D., lead the research on frontotemporal degeneration (FTD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in the Discovery and Translation Labs at Mayo Clinic. With the goal of improving the prognosis and treatment of people with early-onset dementias and related disorders, the research seeks to identify novel causal genes and genetic risk factors, elucidate mechanisms of disease, and discover biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
