The Neuro-Oncology Training Program at Mayo Clinic prepares physicians and biomedical scientists for independent laboratory investigative careers. It provides trainees with opportunities to acquire in-depth research experience. Each trainee is expected to complete at least two years of hypothesis-driven research, supplemented by a required core curriculum that provides optimal training, education and career development.

The overriding goal is to develop superbly trained scientists who study the pathogenesis of neuro-oncologic disorders and develop better treatment and prevention strategies to improve patient care.

Position availability

There are three postdoctoral positions awarded to the Neuro-Oncology Training Program a year. The number of open positions varies.

Eligibility

Postdoctoral appointees must have received a Ph.D., M.D. or comparable doctoral degree by the beginning date of the training grant appointment.

Appointees must also be citizens or noncitizen nationals of the United States or must have been legally admitted as permanent residents.
