Dr. Radisky, a professor of cancer biology, is targeting the natural interactions between enzymes and their endogenous inhibitors that can play a role in the development of cancer, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer and ovarian cancer.
Led by Dr. Radisky, the Proteases in Cancer Lab focuses its research efforts on the molecular interactions involved in inhibiting proteases that are implicated in several types of cancer.
The lab's research team has three main research projects, developing mesotrypsin inhibitors and selective inhibitors for several matrix metalloproteinases known to promote cancer progression, and identifying new avenues for therapy that target SPINK1 pathways.
Dr. Radisky's lab offers education and training for students and postdocs, including programs for students pursuing Ph.D. degrees or Ph.D. dissertation studies and for undergraduate students for summer research training through SURF at Mayo Clinic.
Contact Dr. Radisky about her team's research on proteases in cancer or for information about postdoctoral education and training opportunities.
