Wound Healing Research
Project 1: Purified exosome product for wound healing
This project is studying the use of purified exosome product (PEP) to accelerate wound healing. The mechanism of PEP-enhancing healing is to release bioactive transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) into the wound bed. Sustained delivery through fibrin sealant (TISSEEL) yielded significant regenerative benefit for full-thickness ischemic wound healing. This study is funded by a Mayo Clinic benefactor award.
