Patient Advisory Group
The Knowledge and Evaluation Research Unit hosts a patient advisory group of about 10 community members with diabetes from Rochester, Minnesota, and the surrounding area.
The patient advisory group has met with Mayo Clinic researchers nearly every month since it was created in 2004, forging a constructive working relationship that enhances effective and meaningful research and helps researchers remain connected to the real world of patients. The group provides feedback on research proposals, participant recruitment materials, surveys and all areas of proposed and existing research. Group members review our research through a patient's perspective, helping us ensure that our studies are pertinent to the problematic situations that real patients experience.
You can email the lab if you have questions about the patient advisory group or are interested in joining the group.
