David (Chun-Wei) D. Chen, Ph.D.
Principal Investigator
Dr. Chen is a faculty member in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and director of Genetic Screening and Engineering at Mayo Clinic. He completed his academic training at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Chen has been recognized with numerous honors and awards from the National Institutes of Health and National Cancer Institute. In acknowledgment of his significant contributions to biomedical research, he also has been recognized by leading foundations, including the American Society of Hematology, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Stand Up To Cancer.
Dr. Chen is an expert in CRISPR-based genetic screening and cellular engineering, with a focus on the discovery of novel therapeutic strategies in leukemia and cancer.

Anthony Chan, Ph.D.
Research Scientist
Dr. Chan received his academic training at the University of Oxford in the U.K. He was awarded the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship in 2015 and the American Society of Hematology Travel Award in 2019.
Dr. Chan's research expertise includes cancer biology, CRISPR-based genetic screening, structural biology and drug discovery. Since joining the Chen lab in 2017, Dr. Chan has published first-author articles in Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, Nature Communications, and Science Advances.
Dhvani Vora, Ph.D.
Research Fellow
Dr. Vora is a postdoctoral researcher who joined the Chen lab in 2024. She received her academic training at the Indian Institutes of Technology in India and the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. In 2021, she was awarded the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) Bi-nationally Supervised Doctoral Degree Fellowship and the ACM-W Scholarship Award.
Dr. Vora's expertise spans computational biology, machine learning, multi-omics and CRISPR data analysis.
