Kristin R. Swanson, Ph.D., is a mathematical oncologist with research interests in clinical trial design and mathematical modeling for the treatment of patients with brain cancer.
Dr. Swanson's lab works to generate patient-specific predictive models to effectively and accurately predict tumor growth and response to therapy in individual patients. The lab works with clinical and research teams at Mayo Clinic to bring these innovations to the clinic while identifying new predictive models.

Significance to patient care
The research conducted by Dr. Swanson in the development of patient-specific mathematical models can generate accurate predictions of disease course and response to therapy. This information can be used to inform novel therapy design, resulting in better treatment and outcomes for patients.
