Educational priorities within the division are directed toward training colleagues to evaluate clinical practice at Mayo Clinic, to generate new research programs, and to gain an appreciation of the study design issues inherent to interpreting medical literature.

These goals are accomplished through didactic courses offered by Mayo Clinic's Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCaTS). The division faculty serve as primary mentors on research career development (K) awards and mentor medical and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty through specific research projects of mutual interest.
