About Nephrology and Hypertension Research
The mission of the Mayo Clinic Division of Nephrology and Hypertension Research is to eliminate the personal and societal costs of kidney diseases and high blood pressure (hypertension). Research in the division has contributed significantly to enhancing the care of patients with renal disease, hypertension or both.
Strengths of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension Research include the diversity of research disciplines, robust collaborations and alignment with clinical strengths, which have led to national and international renown.
The division's basic science and clinical research are closely linked, facilitating cooperation between investigators and expediting translation of basic research findings to clinical research and practice. In particular, clinical research is fostered by close ties to Mayo Clinic's Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics in the Department of Health Sciences Research.
