The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics offers these positions, although all positions will not be available all of the time:
Faculty position in artificial intelligence (AI) and informatics
Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree in their respective disciplines with a strong quantitative science background. The department recruits doctorally prepared, early-stage, midstage or established investigators with expertise in natural language processing, biomedical data processing and data analysis.
Early-stage candidates should have demonstrated scientific productivity. They also should have evidence of successful external funding, such as R21 or R00.
Midstage or established candidates should have national leadership and strong extramural funding records.

Research positions
Translational informatics analyst
A translational informatics analyst develops and integrates data-driven solutions that transform information into actionable knowledge by collaborating with experts across domains. People in this position apply advanced informatics and data science methods, ensuring data governance best practices.
This position typically requires at least a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience. A master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
Data science analyst
Data scientists analyze large, complex datasets to uncover insights that improve patient care. They collaborate with clinicians and partners to develop and deploy AI-driven solutions.
This position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and a minimum of three years of data science experience.
Research associate
This position is for those who have received substantial postdoctoral training. Research associates take part in a temporary period of research within a staff investigator's program to prepare for an independent program or faculty position at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
Research fellow
This position is for those holding a doctoral degree. Research fellows take part in a temporary period of mentored research or scholarly training to acquire the professional skills needed to pursue a full-time career in academia or research.
Research trainee
This position provides a mentored educational opportunity to qualified people to gain experience in research.
Intern
This position is for those working toward their bachelor's, master's or Ph.D. degrees in different fields related to AI. Interns contribute to cutting-edge projects, build new skill sets and play a crucial role in advancing AI discovery at Mayo Clinic.
