About this study

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that treatment of Invasive Candidiasis/ Candidemia with intravenous (IV) echinocandin followed by oral ibrexafungerp is non-inferior to IV echinocandin followed by oral fluconazole based on 30-day all-cause mortality (ACM).

Furthermore, to demonstrate that treatment of Invasive Candidiasis/ Candidemia with IV echinocandin followed by oral ibrexafungerp is non-inferior to IV echinocandin followed by oral fluconazole based on Global Response (clinical, radiological, and mycological response, as confirmed by the Data Review Committee [DRC]) at Day 14

About this study

The purpose of this study is to see how well radiation therapy and cisplatin with triapine work in combination compared to the standard radiation therapy and cisplatin alone to treat patients with newly diagnosed stage IB2, II, or IIIB-IVA cervical cancer or stage II-IVA vaginal cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy protons to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing or by stopping them from spreading. Triapine may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether radiation therapy and cisplatin are more effective with triapine in treating cervical or vaginal cancer.

About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of pembrolizumab to observation for the treatment of patients with early-stage triple-negative breast cancer who achieved a pathologic complete response after preoperative chemotherapy in combination with pembrolizumab. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. This trial may help researchers determine if observation will result in the same risk of cancer coming back as pembrolizumab after surgery in triple-negative breast cancer patients who achieve pathologic complete response after preoperative chemotherapy with pembrolizumab.

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an increase in the time of a first occurrence of either: local recurrence, leptomeningeal disease, or symptomatic radiation brain necrosis in patients with brain metastases who receive SRS prior to surgery as compared to patients who receive surgery prior to SRS.

About this study

This clinical trial tests a collaborative pain management intervention (ASCENT) for improving cancer pain in rural and Hispanic cancer survivors. Cancer pain is prevalent, under-treated, and remains a major cause of suffering, impairment, and disability for millions of Americans. Individual pain interventions and care models show promise for cancer pain in controlled settings. Hispanic and rural-dwelling cancer survivors stand to benefit the most from electronic health record innovations, as each of these health disparities populations experience profound disparities in pain outcomes, including marked under- and over-prescribing of opioids. Digitally facilitated solutions are especially well matched for these patients, and can be customized to address their needs. The ASCENT intervention provides patients with an educational guide that describes techniques for addressing cancer pain, and uses community health workers and pain care managers to coach patients through a personalized pain management plan. This study may help researchers learn how pain management strategies can improve cancer pain and lower risk of opioid exposure and dependency in rural and Hispanic cancer survivors.

About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the combination of lurbinectedin plus doxorubicin given as first line treatment for metastatic leiomyosarcoma (LMS) prolongs the progression-free survival (PFS) by Independent Review Committee (IRC) when compared to doxorubicin administered as a single agent.

About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare how well single fraction stereotactic radiosurgery works versus fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery in treating patients with cancer that has spread to the brain from other parts of the body and has been removed by surgery. Single fraction stereotactic radiosurgery is a specialized radiation therapy that delivers a single, high dose of radiation directly to the tumor and may cause less damage to normal tissue. Fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery delivers multiple, smaller doses of radiation therapy over time.

About this study

This randomized phase II trial studies the side effects and how well carboplatin and gemcitabine hydrochloride with or without ATR kinase inhibitor VX-970 work in treating patients with ovarian, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer that has come back (recurrent) and has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and gemcitabine hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. ATR kinase inhibitor VX-970 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving carboplatin and gemcitabine with or without ATR kinase inhibitor VX-970 may work better in treating ovarian, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer.
