  • Ultrasound Of The Lateral Ankle Ligaments As A Predictor Of Future Ankle Sprain And Time-loss Injury In Division III Collegiate Athletes Minneapolis, MN

The authors hypothesize that asymptomatic structural changes found at the lateral ankle via sonographic examination will be associated with increased risk of future ankle injury.

Aims, purpose, and/or objectives (primary, secondary, and exploratory):

Primary aim: Examine the likelihood of experiencing a time-loss lateral ankle injury in athletes with baseline pre-season ultrasound abnormalities compared to those without abnormalities

Secondary aim: Identify, describe, and report prevalence of pre-season asymptomatic sonographic abnormalities in the structures of the lateral ankle
