Extending the role of neuromuscular ultrasound in the EMG laboratory

The purpose of this study is to further develop normal values for nerve and muscle ultrasound in the Mayo EMG lab, to allow more widespread use of this non-invasive tool in the diagnostic work up of patients presenting to the EMG lab, and to validate those normal values in clinical practice.

Phase 1b Open-Label, Multi-Center, Randomized Trial to Evaluate the Safety of PEP and EUFLEXXA for the Treatment of Subjects With Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA)

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and exploratory efficacy of single intra-articular injections of PEP reconstituted with 0.9% Normal Saline at a low dose (one vial PEP) and high dose (two vials PEP), with and without EUFLEXXA, for the treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis.

Diaphragm Ultrasound in Normal and Diseased Subjects

The purpose of this study is to compare diaphragm excursion (measured with B mode ultrasound) in a small group of healthy subjects with the published values in the curernt literature and to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of M mode ultrasound, in isolation, and when combined with B mode ultrasound of the diaphragm, in diagnosing neuromuscular disease of the diaphragm.
