A Study Of Longitudinal Attrition And Weight Loss In Youth After Metabolic And Bariatric Surgery

About this study

The purpose of this study is to describe patient experiences with the adolescent metabolic and bariatric surgery program and transition to adult care, and to update clinical outcomes following surgery, in order to inform future quality improvement efforts.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

All adolescent patients who underwent Roux-en-Y gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy at 18 years of age at the time of surgery between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2025.

Exclusion Criteria:

Patients who underwent metabolic and bariatric procedures other than Roux-en-Y gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy, or who underwent at > 18 years of age.
