A Study Of GLP-1–Based Therapies On Sexual Health In Women

About this study

The purpose of this study is to identify whether women using GLP-1–based therapies perceive any changes in their sexual health and to describe the specific domains in which these changes occur (e.g., desire, arousal, satisfaction, comfort, orgasm, frequency).

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Women

  • Aged 21- 70 years old

  • Currently undergoing a weight-loss intervention with a GLP-1–based therapy (e.g., semaglutide, liraglutide, tirzepatide) for at least 6 months

 

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Concomitant use of other weight-loss medications or history of bariatric surgery at the start of, or following, GLP-1 therapy

  • Cognitive impairment that would preclude informed consent or meaningful participation in interviews

  • Severe psychiatric illness requiring acute treatment

  • Inability to speak or understand English.

  • Lack of access to electronic devices required for study participation.
