A Study Of Exploring Disease Mechanisms Of Immune-mediated Myopathies

About this study

The purpose of this study is to identify diagnostic biomarkers that can differentiate subtypes of immune-mediated myopathies and to characterize pathways involved in the pathogenesis of immune-mediated myopathies and develop outcome measures that help with predicting treatment response and long-term outcomes.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults 18 years old or olde

  • Able to give consent

  • Males and females, including pregnant women.

  • Diagnosis in keeping with one of the 3 groups of interest.

 

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • For group 3: patients will be excluded if they have a condition affecting their muscle function such as untreated hypothyroidism, or limited mobility.

  • Institutionalized (i.e., Federal Medical Prison)
