A Study Of Shoulder Exposure Score In Real-world Settings

About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate and benchmark the Shoulder Exposure Score (SES) as a biomarker for quantifying extrinsic contributors to shoulder overuse in able-bodied individuals using wearable sensor data collected during laboratory-based activities, including simulated real-world and wheelchair-related tasks.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

Adults aged 18–65 years.
No current musculoskeletal injury that would interfere with safe participation.
Able to understand and communicate in English.
Willing and able to provide informed consent.

Exclusion Criteria:

History of significant shoulder pain, surgery, or injury within the past 6 months.
Known neurological or orthopedic condition affecting arm or trunk movement.
Inability or unwillingness to comply with study procedures.
