Pediatric Tibial Spine Fractures Prospective Cohort

About this study

The primary objective of this study is to establish a comprehensive prospective cohort that examines numerous aspects of tibial spine fractures, including current treatment practices and short- and long-term outcomes.

The primary study intervention is ongoing medical record review and the completion of patient-reported outcome questionnaires.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Males or females ages 5 to 25 years at time of initial diagnosis. 
  • Diagnosed with a tibial spine fracture.
  • Diagnosis confirmed with appropriate radiographic imaging.
  • Parental/guardian permission (informed consent) and if appropriate, child assent.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Cannot speak English.
  • Congenital anterior cruciate ligament  (ACL) deficiency.
  • Multiligament knee injuries.
  • Other significant comorbidities including syndromic conditions, neuromuscular disorders or developmental delay.
  • Patients that have received prior treatment/surgery for tibial spine fracture without appropriate imaging or documentation.
  • Parents/guardians or index subjects who, in the opinion of the Investigator, may be non-compliant with study schedules or procedures.
