Cancer Patients' Comfort Answering SO/GI Questions.

Overview

About this study

The purpose of this study is to explore patients' comfort levels in disclosing sexual orientation and gender identity (SO/GI) in cancer care settings, aiming to assess current question formats, identify barriers, propose solutions, and develop a standardized questionnaire for clinical trial settings. Hypothesizing that patients, regardless of LGBTQ+ status, may exhibit diverse perspectives on SO/GI questions, the research aims to offer insights for more inclusive healthcare practices. Through quantitative and qualitative analysis, the study aims help addressing healthcare disparities among sexual and gender minority (SGM) individuals and provide a standardized approach for SO/GI data collection that is crucial for tailored interventions in clinical trials.
