A Study Of Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid Biorepository For Biomarker Discovery In Lung Cancer

About this study

The purpose of this study is to establish standardized infrastructure for BAL fluid collection and processing at Mayo Clinic Florida.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • adult patients (≥18 years old) undergoing clinically indicated bronchoscopy at Mayo Clinic Florida for evaluation of pulmonary abnormalities, including suspected lung cancer or other benign lung conditions.

  • Both male and female patients of all races and ethnicities will be eligible to participate. We will specifically include individuals who are able to provide informed consent.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • No protected populations such as children, prisoners, pregnant women, fetuses, neonates, or adults lacking capacity to consent will be enrolled.
