A Study Of PROMIS-10, PROMIS-CAT-SRI & ESS For Assessing PAP Therapy Response With OSA

About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare PROMIS-CAT-SRI and PROMIS-10 with the ESS in adults with OSA newly initiated on PAP therapy by administering all three instruments at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months, and evaluating their correlation and sensitivity in detecting treatment-related improvements in daytime sleepiness and overall quality of life.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults, ≥ 18 years old

  • Obstructive sleep apnea, defined as AHI ≥ 5 on polysomnography or home sleep apnea testing, newly being started on PAP therapy

  • Able to read and understand English

  • Able to provide informed consent

  • Be enrolled in electronic portal for patient messages

 

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Unable or unwilling to participate in research study

  • Not be enrolled in electronic portal for patient messages

  • Patients with, predominantly central sleep apnea (CSA), treatment-emergent central sleep apnea (TECSA), comorbid insomnia (COMISA), or severe psychiatric illness
