A Study Of Apple Hearing Test Using The Apple Airpod Pro 2 System Compared To The Clinical Gold Standard Behavioral Audiogram

About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare the pure tone audiogram test results from the Apple Hearing Test using the Apple Airpod Pro 2 system to the gold standard behavioral audiogram performed in a soundproof booth. To determine the sensitivity and specificity of the Apple Hearing Test using the Apple Airpod Pro 2 system to screen for hearing loss .

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Consecutive adult patients presenting for behavioral audiometric testing at Mayo Clinic Rochester.

 

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Patients under the age of 18 years old; those who are unable to participate in audiologic testing.
