A Study Of Deep Peroneal Nerve Neurectomy For Dorsal Midfoot Pain

Overview

About this study

The aim of this study is to evaluate clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, safety profile, and long-term durability of pain relief in patients who have undergone deep peroneal nerve (DPN) neurectomy at our institution. This will help characterize patient selection criteria, surgical techniques, and complication rates. Additionally, subgroup analysis will look at sex, age, athletic vs non-non-athletic differences to identify patient and anatomic factors associated with improved outcomes. By contributing to the limited existing literature, this study aims to inform best practices and guide future prospective investigations comparing DPN neurectomy to alternative interventions for chronic dorsal midfoot pain.
