A Study Of Chemotherapy Selection For PM For Colorectal And Appendiceal Cancers

About this study

The purpose of this study is to directly address PM, chemotherapy has been applied intra-peritoneally through a variety of methods, the most common being heated intra-peritoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) at the time of cytoreduction surgery (CRS) for patients who qualify.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • All patients undergoing surgery for metastatic colorectal or appendiceal cancer for the peritoneum will be included. Subjects will need to have enough tumor burden during the procedure that extra tissue can be sent for research without compromising pathologic evaluation or increasing the risk of the surgery to resect additional tumor tissue.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Subject not willing to provide consent.
