A Study Of Ultrasound Analysis Of Hand Function

About this study

The purpose of this study is to develop novel ultrasonographic methods for the evaluation and diagnosis of hand pathology.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients diagnosed with thumb CMC arthritis by Eaton-Littler criteria25, from any imaging modality (e.g., ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI)

  • Healthy volunteers with no history of a hand condition or symptoms of a hand condition

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Any history of cervical radiculopathy, flexor tendinitis, gout, hemodialysis, sarcoidosis, amyloidosis, or traumatic injuries to the ipsilateral hand and wrist.
