A Study of Hepatocellular Carcinoma on the Somali Population

About this study

The purpose of this study is to explore the psychosocial impact of HCC among members of the Somali Community and identify areas of need that can be addressed from a psychological perspective.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Identify as Somali
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Provide verbal consent
  • Willing and able to share their opinions about psychosocial support services for members of the Somali community who have liver cancer

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Not 18 years of age or older
  • Not identify as a Somali
  • Do not provide verbal consent
  • Not willing and able to share their opinions about psychosocial services for members of the Somali community who have liver cancer
