About this study

The purpose of this study is to confirm that peripheral blood miRNA levels are sufficient to serve as FHP serum biomarkers.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Age: 18 years of age or older diagnosed with MASLD who are undergoing TIPS creation or any percutaneous portal intervention.
  • Gender: Men or women. Women of childbearing potential will have a negative clinical pregnancy test prior to standard of care procedure.
  • Able and willing to comply with study requirements and consent to participate.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Inability to provide informed consent.
  • Pregnant women.
  • Prisoners
  • History of metabolic or bariatric surgery.
  • Use of weight loss medications.
  • Participants with intolerance of fructose.
  • Severe malabsorption such as history of short gut syndrome or need for parenteral or enteral nutrition.
  • Participants with type 1 diabetes mellitus.
