Immersive Virtual Reality for Reducing Pain and Anxiety in Patients With Temporary Mechanical Circulatory Support Awaiting Heart Transplantation.

Overview

About this study

Patients awaiting heart transplantation on temporary mechanical support often experience pain and anxiety, and their pre-transplant hospital course is often prolonged. We intend to investigate whether an immersive Virtual Reality headset can improve patients pain and anxiety while awaiting cardiac transplantation using specific patient surveys to assess pain, anxiety, and resilience.
