A Study of Norfolk Quality of Life-diabetic Neuropathy in Diabetic Lumbosacral Radiculoplexus Neuropathy

About this study

The purpose of this study is to bridge the existing gap by assessing the reliability and validity of the Norfolk QOL-DN questionnaire for patients with Diabetic Lumbosacral Radiculoplexus Neuropathy (DLRPN).

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

DLRPN Inclusion Criteria:

  • Diabetes
  • Symptoms and signs of DLRPN, with weakness in the lower limbs that is not confined to one nerve or nerve root distribution; 3) and electrophysiological evidence an axonal disorder of lumbosacral segments involving at least 2 nerves from at least 2 different root levels

DDSP  Inclusion Criteria:

  • Diabetes
  • Symptoms and signs of a length dependent peripheral neuropathy
  • Electrophysiological evidence of a length-dependent peripheral neuropathy

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • For both DLRPN and DDLRPN, other identifiable cause of peripheral neuropathy, like vitamin B12 deficiency, alcohol, chemotherapy, monoclonal gammopathy, systemic vasculitis or connective tissue disorders.
