A Study Of Acoustic Vocal Analysis In Chronic Kidney Disease Undergoing Stem Cell Therapy

About this study

The purpose of this study to determine whether acoustic features in voice recordings are correlated with clinical improvement in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing stem cell therapy, as measured by changes in serum creatinine and other clinical or patient-reported outcomes.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults (age ≥18)

  • English-speaking

  • Ability to provide informed consent

  • Enrolled in Dr. Hickson’s stem cell therapy trial for chronic kidney disease

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Current respiratory infection

  • Throat or vocal condition affecting voice

  • Psychiatric condition impairing ability to consent
