Prevalence of Hypervigilant Eating Habits in Pediatric Patients With Gastrointestinal Symptoms

About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of avoidant and hypervigilant eating habits in the pediatric gastroenterology clinic, and to compare this prevalence to healthy controls. Also, to survey the quality of life of these patients as it relates to eating behaviors and attitudes.

 

              

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Group A will include the pediatric patients age ≥ 6 years who are being evaluated at pediatric gastroenterology clinic.
  • Group B (control group) will include patients ages 6 and up presenting to Community Pediatrics for well child visits.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • < 6 years of age.
