Magnetoencephalography (MEG) Recordings to Interrogate the Brain

Overview

About this study

The purpose of this study is to record brain activity using MEG in patients who are receiving MEG for clinical indications. MEG is a non-invasive neuroimaging technique that records the magnetic fields produced by neural activity. The MEG machine is completely passive, does not emit any electromagnetic activity, and does not have any known health related risks. The study aims to:

  1. Establish baseline MEG data across different age groups and medical conditions.
  2. Explore task-induced brain activity under different cognitive and sensory conditions.
  3. Investigate brain patters in patients receiving MEG for clinical indicaitons as ordered by their clinical team.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Ages 4 and above.
  • Has any neurological or psychiatric diagnosis.
  • Medically stable, as determined by clinical evaluation.
  • Ability to provide informed consent (or legally-authorized guardian consent).

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Presence of cochlear implant (which could damage MEG sensors).
  • Severe claustrophobia or other conditions that may prevent participation.
  • Inability to comply with the study procedures or remain still during the MEG recording.

Note: Other protocol defined Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria may apply.

Eligibility last updated 1/06/2025. Questions regarding updates should be directed to the study team contact.
