About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare lateral flow assay eosinophil peroxidase (LFA-EPX) with ELISA-EPX

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

Asthma participants

  • Provider-diagnosed asthma.
  • 18 years or older.

Healthy control participants

  • Age matched, must be within 20 years of current mean of recruited  asthma participants.

Exclusion Critieria:

Asthma participants

  • COPD by history.
  • Bronchiectasis by history.

Healthy control participants

  • Any eosinophil disorder by history.
  • Asthma by history.
  • Rhinitis or sinusitis by history.
  • Upper respiratory infection in the past 2 weeks.
