Biomarkers and Rates of Progression in Dementia (Bio-RaPID)

About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate, genetically characterize, and apply serial multimodal biomarkers in patients to determine the patient- and disease-specific factors that associate with Alzheimer disease (rpAD) and AD-related dementias (rpADRD).

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Age ≥ 18 years (no upper limit)
  • Meets RPD criteria at consent
  • Rapidly progressive dementia attributed to AD/ADRD
  • Has a reliable collateral source (spouse/partner, adult child, close friend)
  • Legally authorized representative consenting to study participation
  • Participant willing to complete study-specific procedures

Exclusion Criteria:   

  • Rapidly progressive dementia attributed to acute large-territory cerebral infarction (stroke), CNS infection, or prion disease
