Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Support Groups in the Management of Urinary Incontinence in Women

About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess if women seeking care for urinary incontinence have improved outcomes when enrolled in a moderated support group compared to those that receive standard of care alone.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Women older than 18 years of age.
  • Women with urinary incontinence seeking care from female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery specialists from the Mayo Clinic Phoenix Urology Department.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Unable to read or comprehend study paperwork and surveys.
  • Non-English speaking.
  • Unable to commute to support group facility.
  • Unable to attend all three session of the support group.
