A Study to Validate Patient Self-assessment of Physiologic Outcomes in Cardiac Rehab


About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine if patients enrolled in the cardiac rehabilitation program can accurately self-assess their 6 minute walk test (6MWT), waist circumference (WC), handgrip strength (HGS), leg strength, and flexibility compared to the cardiac rehabilitation staff.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • All adults ≥ 18 years of age.
  • Resident of Olmsted County, Minnesota.
  • Adults who enter into the cardiac rehabilitation (CR) program.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Cognitive impairment or other psychotic disorders.
  • Accompany with other diseases that are life threatening (such as ventricular arrhythmias and cardiac arrest history).
