About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess short and long term outcomes of patients undergoing treatment of fistula in ano utilizing a radially emitting diode laser fiber.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. If you need assistance understanding the eligibility criteria, please contact the study team.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Adults age ≥18 years old
  • Any fistula in ano (primary or recurrent)
  • The ability to give appropriate consent

Exclusion Criteria

  • Age <18 years old
  • Pregnant ( as determined by urine test)
  • HIV positivity
  • Fistula in ano associated with:
  • Anal cancer
  • Rectal cancer
  • Padgett’s Disease
  • Anal condyloma
  • Low or High Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion(s) (L/HSIL)
  • Active infection / abscess
