Databases and Epidemiology
The Spinal Cord Injury Research Program at Mayo Clinic maintains spinal cord injury databases and conducts epidemiologic research to improve research and patient care by coordinating researchers when participants are eligible for multiple studies. Collaborative data sets allow researchers to compare injuries, treatments and outcomes at hospitals and rehabilitation centers external to Mayo Clinic.
Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Research Registry
When participants enroll in the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Research Registry, they are added to a list of people living with spinal cord injuries who would like to be contacted about research opportunities at Mayo Clinic.
With participants' consent, their contact information and information about their spinal cord injuries are used when researchers are recruiting volunteers for research studies.
The Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Research Registry helps researchers work together when someone qualifies to participate in multiple studies, ultimately improving the participant's experience.

Spinal Cord Injury and Dysfunction Registry
The Spinal Cord Injury and Dysfunction Registry collects and documents International Spinal Cord Injury Data Set outcome measures from all consenting patients who are treated for spinal cord injury at Mayo Clinic.
The International Spinal Cord Injury Data Sets are the result of years of collaborative effort from a consortium of worldwide spinal cord injury experts. The data sets are measurements and standardized descriptions about each patient's physical and mental health, body functions, abilities, and other information. Visit the International Spinal Cord Society's website to learn more about the data sets.
The International Spinal Cord Injury Data Sets not only provide valuable information to improve patient care, but also facilitate comparisons of injuries, treatments and outcomes between contributing hospitals and rehabilitation centers.
