Education
The Integrative Medicine and Health Research Program provides education and training on integrative medicine topics such as herbs and dietary supplements, pet therapy, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, massage therapy, and more.
Integrative medicine education opportunities are available for current and future medical professionals and scientists, including:
- Continuous professional development. Mayo Clinic School of Continuous Professional Development offers Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit and professional development opportunities to help medical professionals keep up-to-date on advances in integrative medicine and incorporate complementary medicine strategies into patient care.
- Grand Rounds. Mayo Clinic faculty members regularly give Grand Rounds presentations on integrative medicine topics that provide exceptional educational value. Presentations focus on subjects such as wellness coaching, clinical hypnosis, health and the indoor environment, fibromyalgia, mind-body interventions, and more.
- Monthly seminar series. Coordinated by Anjali Bhagra, M.D., the Integrative Medicine and Health Research Program hosts a monthly "mini case" seminar series featuring Mayo Clinic staff and various professionals in the field of integrative medicine from around the country. The series provides opportunities for integrative medicine clinicians, researchers and allied health staff to present unique cases and discuss them with colleagues. Seminars are open to the public.
