Individualized Medicine Education for Students

Mayo Clinic offers education and training opportunities for students across the continuum, including undergraduates, medical and graduate students, and those at the postdoctoral level. Residencies, fellowships and collaborative training programs educate the next generation of health care professionals in careers such as genetic counseling, pharmacogenomics pharmacy, laboratory medicine and bioinformatics.

Education Collaboration

The Mayo Clinic & Illinois Alliance for Technology-Based Healthcare offers students opportunities to apply data analytics and bioinformatics to explore omics applications in health care.

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)

The Mayo Clinic SURF program provides undergraduates interested in a research career to work with established investigators conducting original biomedical research. SURF students can find opportunities in one of the Center for Individualized Medicine's many research programs and laboratories.

PGY-2 Clinical Pharmacogenomics Residency

Advanced training in educational, research and clinical activities to support pharmacogenomics in clinical practice is available through Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

Medical School

Integrating individualized medicine topics across its curriculum, Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine educates and prepares medical students to be physician leaders who can better serve their patients by incorporating genomics into their chosen areas of practice.

Graduate School
